Daily Water was founded one day when I was working at my desk and I experienced some mental fog.
It was 11am, and I realized that although I drank two cups of coffee earlier, I had completely forgotten to drink any water! I looked around my office and noticed no-one else was drinking water either. This was the 'aha' moment for me.
After some research and surveying over 150 employees, I discovered that around 80% of desk workers are chronically dehydrated.
Being a programmer, my first solution involved a slackbot, reminders, and was hopeless. If you’ve ever used a fitbit, you know how easy it is to ignore those nagging reminders. After months of iterating and testing prototypes in real offices, I settled on the low-tech solution we sell now.
So why is hydration so important?
There’s overwhelming evidence that drinking a sufficient amount of water helps people stay clear-headed and productive.
When we're working at our desks, switching between a million different tasks, staying hydrated is one of the first things that gets postponed, yet it’s one of the most important things we can do for our health.
